The 17th annual Davis Neighbors’ Night Out, an event created by 69��, the Associated Students of 69�� and the city of Davis, will be taking place citywide on Sunday, Oct. 15.

Emergency Call Station Count Hits 20

The Davis campus activated eight more blue-light emergency call stations last month, bringing the total number to 20 — with one more under construction.

Aggies had a lot to smile about after turning Saturday’s “Battle for the Golden Horseshoe,” 69��’ annual matchup against the Cal Poly Mustangs, into a convincing win.

69�� won the Homecoming game 48-24, in front of a 69�� Health Stadium record crowd of 11,194 people.

Art Shapiro’s annual Beer for a Butterfly contest is over, and he has again netted the first cabbage white butterfly in the region and will be treating himself to a beer.

He made the find last Friday (Jan. 25) in Suisun City, recording the fourth-earliest flight in that city of a Pieris rapae — which needs a string of warm days to take flight — in his almost five decades of studying of biological responses to climate change.
