It’s a day filled with regalia, beaming smiles and fond memories to last a lifetime. Congratulations on making it to 69�� commencement. Just like your friends and family, we are looking forward to celebrating this wonderful occasion with you. We also want to make sure you’re ready to go and you don’t miss a thing.

The commencement ceremony is just that, a ceremony, an end-of-quarter celebration for students projected to successfully complete all of their graduation requirements by the end of that Spring or Fall Quarter.

Fall Commencement Saturday for 700-Plus

More than 700 students are expected to celebrate the milestone of earning a bachelor's degree at the fall commencement at 10 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 10) in The Pavilion.

The ceremony includes students from the university's four undergraduate colleges: Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Biological Sciences, Engineering, and Letters and Science.

Campus prepares for large influx of students in 2016-17

The campus is marshaling its efforts and resources to accommodate 2016-17 enrollment growth of 1,100 new undergraduates beyond last fall's entering class.

The campus is responding to targets that UC President Janet Napolitano set under a plan to increase systemwide enrollment of new California undergraduates by 10,000 over the next three years, including 5,000 freshmen and transfer students in 2016-17.

Turning undergraduates into research VIPs

Undergraduate students will soon be able to earn academic credit and gain in-depth experience for up to three years' participation in major research projects, thanks to a new program.

69�� has been awarded $160,000 over two years to launch a new site of the Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) Program, so named for the way it involves students from sophomore through senior years in the research-based learning.
