See that jockey on the No. 5 horse, first across the finish line? That鈥檚 Ferrin Peterson, a fourth-year veterinary student, winning her first race! It happened Sunday (March 11) at Golden Gate Fields in Albany.
"Along with riding in races, Ferrin is currently a veterinarian student at 69成人 and has worked with numerous barns and veterinarians on the Golden Gate Fields backstretch," according to track announcer Matt Dinerman, quoted by LA Times horse racing columnist John Cherwa.
鈥淎fter the big win, Ferrin was treated with buckets of cold water and shaving cream from her fellow riders. 鈥楾hat was the greatest feeling!鈥 quipped Ferrin.鈥
